Michael Aloia - Dojo Cho - Shidoin Aloia Sensei enjoys the fluidity and freedom Aikido provides while focusing on the martial aspects. For over 30 years, he has studied multiple arts and various arts and styles to cultivate an appreciation of form, function and application. Aloia Sensei believes Aikido encompasses all the arts and is the vehicle by which a martial arts practitioner truly becomes well-rounded. He is a fitness trainer and Dojo Cho of the Asahikan Dojo Aikido in Collegeville, PA. He has been featured in several instructional DVD titles and is the author of the book How Aikido Can Change the World and co-author of Rescuer Mindset. Actively involved in the community, Aloia Sensei has worked with several area organizations including: Tac-Med and Operational Medicine Research Group as an instructor and the Pottstown Guardian Angels as a member and served as the Chapter’s Trainer from 2010 until 2013 among others. Sensei is served as the lead coach for the West Chester University Judo Club from 2021 to 2023 and served on the Board of Advisors for Aikido United International, a non-profit group. Aloia Sensei holds the rank of Godan (5th dan) and recognized at Aikikai World Headquarters – Hombu Dojo – Japan.
